Adding an AI Use Declaration to an Assignment

In the Assignment activity, you can add an AI use declaration that students must complete before submitting their assignment.

This guide includes:

  • How to add an AI use declaration?

  • What students fill in as part of the declaration?

  • How to view a student’s declaration while grading the assignment?

How to add an AI use declaration?

1. Open the assignment and click the "Settings" tab.

2. Go to "Submission settings" and select Yes for “Should students be required to complete an AI use declaration before submission?”

3. Save changes.

What students fill in as part of the declaration?

Students select the ways they used AI from a list organized by category:

How to view a student’s declaration while grading the assignment?

1. Open the assignment and go to the "Submissions" tab

2. Click the three-dot icon in the Grade column and select Grade, in the relevant student’s row,

3. The grading page will display the details of the AI use declared by the student.

A report bringing together all students’ declarations will be available soon.
